The Smart Studio, opened in 1967, was the first gallery in Northeast Harbor, Maine. Many other galleries followed, making this small town an art center. Located on Mount Desert Island, near Acadia National Park, this island’s beautiful area offers unlimited subject matter and has proved to be an ongoing inspiration for artists Wini Smart and her daughter, Gail Cleveland.

The studio gallery is on Main Street, in the center of town, with showrooms on two floors. Featured are paintings and limited edition prints by both Wini Smart and Gail Cleveland. Other exhibits include photographs, mosaics, and painted furniture.
